Check in at your leisure from 2.00pm onwards, and enjoy mulled wine and minced pies on arrival.
Settle into your room and familiarise yourself with your surroundings; you may wish to take a stroll through the private parkland to Elterwater Lake, enjoy the stunning scenery at Colwith Force (nearby waterfall) or pick up a festive treat while exploring the small historic town of Ambleside.
For a more leisurely experience simply relax and unwind by the blaze of the log fire in our sitting room and enjoy superb panoramic views of the Elterwater Valley and Loughrigg Fell. A selection of board games are available.
From 7.00pm pre-dinner drinks and a chance to meet your fellow guests followed by a traditional four-course dinner.
Lifts can be arranged if necessary for guests wishing to attend the local Midnight Mass in the delightful Victorian slate church at Chapel Stile. In the churchyard is the gravestone of the Reverend Owen Lloyd who was related to Wordsworth's brother. A poem written by Wordsworth in Lloyd's memory is on the stone.
